Greetings Brianna. I linked here from Renee's Roots, always a good starting spot for quality time wasting. I was reading what you wrote about Red Barn which I found interesting. I've yet to go there, mainly because I work at a different nursery on weekends. If you ever venture north come visit Farmer's in Leander. We're very small but have nice set of loyal customers who like our selection of natives, organic supplies, and selected ornamentals. We're just up 183 from HC Water Gardens, another quality stop in the area.
Hope your prickly pear did okay in the freeze...I had a whole batch of rooted pads get killed last year, but my mother plant survived, barely, and seemed to weather this year's freeze somewhat better for some reason.
Have a great spring!

Turns out these are likely Fig Beetles, and not Green June Beetles. Thanks to East Side Patch for the ID:

Love the design! I'd never considered a round bed, but I love the way it looks.

Thanks, Elizabeth!

Neat idea for the circle bed! I've never thought about getting rock from a cemetery before. Interesting idea!

Yeah, it works well for both parties, I think. It's certainly easier on the budget than paying for landscaping stones.

WoW a nice big one too. Can't wait to come see if after you get it planted. Love the rocks around it.

Thanks for visiting. I'll keep posting photos as we continue to work on it.

That is a great resource to find rocks from ! .. are you marking it in a medicine wheel type walkway in between ? .. looks like it will be a beauty !

Thanks, Joy. Not sure yet what kind of paths might cross the circle. I do dig the medicine wheel/sacred circle patterning and symbolism, though. On the day they laid out the stones, Nathan and my father-in-law noted that there was something special about standing in the center...

Circles are in! What's the diameter on your new circle bed, Brianna?

Thanks for the link too.

It's 16 ft. across. I've never planted such a large space before--it's a little intimidating. But I'm really looking forward to it!
