Spring Fling: Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center
Yesterday more than 30 garden bloggers from around the country converged on Austin for a day of celebrating gardens around town and connecting with other students of nature, gardening, and writing–It was the first ever Garden Bloggers’ Spring Fling! Thank you to Pam of Digging, Diana of Sharing Nature’s Garden, Bonnie of Kiss of Sun, and Melissa of Zanthan Gardens for organizing an inspiring event.
I plan to journal about the event in three or four separate posts. In this first post, I’d like to share some images from the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center, which we Spring Flingers visited on Saturday morning.

You got some nice photos there Brianna. I especially like the sotol, and that you found the bee. I still haven’t looked at my photos. Enjoyed talking with you.
I really enjoyed meeting you, too, Bill. Can’t wait to see your photos of the event!

I would so love to have been able to attend Spring Fling. Perhaps another year. I look forward to seeing more great photos from the gathering.
I hope you get the opportunity to visit Austin sometime, too, Nancy. It was wonderful having so many other garden bloggers here this weekend.
I see buds over at Soliloquy–Happy Spring!

Brianna,
Such nice close-ups of the flowers, Bill is spot on…the bee shot is perfect. Will stop by later to see what you captured at lunch!

Nice shots of the Texas natives, Brianna. And it was a good to meet you finally. Kind of weird for those of us in Austin - we will definitely have to do it more often here in town. Can’t wait to see the rest of your posts.
Happy to have met you, too, Diana. I enjoyed chatting with you at Pam’s happy hour.
And I’d love to see the other Austin garden bloggers more than once a year, too.

Great photos- I wonder how many of us took a photo of that sculpture? (I not only took a photo, I wrote down the name of the piece & the sculptor, I liked it so much.) It was wonderful to meet you - all you Austin bloggers were the best hosts!
Oh, I’d love to have the name of the sculpture and the artist. I’ll email you the request.
I’m happy you enjoyed Austin. Thanks for visiting.

I especially liked the photo of the yuccas, grasses and sculpture as well. It was a splendid morning for visiting the Wildflower Center.

Oh, I want a greenhouse so badly! And there’s not room here. But I can enjoy others through pictures like this online. I guess I’m somewhat like these two. I do what I have to around the house and the outside world, volunteer, take care of all the pets (a growing community), and garden. And garden some more. It is heaven on earth!

Love all the pics but my lightbulb flickered brightly when I saw your garden sculpture. I want to try to do something similar along one of my mountain trails!

Very disappointed on entry price and limited space of garden. I thought the garden is way overpriced for its small area of display of plants
